The Kinesis maxim ergonomic keyboard is a professional grade keyboard. This keyboard allows the fingers, wrists and hands to be poised at their natural angles and positions. This allows for less stress on the joints and a lessened number of workplace injuries based on excessive keybord useage. The maxin keyboard provides the user with a number of perks that lessen stress on joints, tendons and muscles in the hands, fingers, and wrists.

The Maxim ergonomic keyboard is one that is split with both lateral and vertical angles. The split on the keyboard, as well as the angles are adjustable to the users needs and comfort. The split can be adjusted from a 0 to a 30 degree angle. The lateral angle is adjustable to the 0, 8 or 14 degree positions.

The Ergonimic keyboard also includes a padded palm support. This lends to the peak of the tent angle at somewhere between 0 and 10 degrees. The added comfort also feels excellent when the job entails long hours without breaks at the keyboard.

When compared to other ‘natural’ type keyboards, the maxim ergonomic keyboard is not quite as long as others. This does not mean that Kinesis has skimped on the features. The keys are actually more user friendly with a better angle to the approach of the keys. They also have a better shape and response when touched. They adhere better to the form and natural shape of the fingertip, making them less stressful when numerous strokes over an elongated period of time.

The Kinesis maxim ergonomic keyboard also has a built in numeric keyboard. The function key allows users to switch between the standard numeral format and secondary numbers and arithmetic symbols that are found in the upper right hand corner of each key.

The keyboard also has amazing stability as well. There are a number of thin strip of rubber that are based underneath the key to aid in preventing slipping. These rubber strips also add to the evenness of the keyboard position and added stability when typing. The keyboard is an overall positive experience to use and set up. There are some mild shifting problems when typing, but these can be overlooked for the ease of use and the depleted stress on the wrists and hands.
